Richard and Susie Stimson started a homeless shelter in Brazil
As a children's home, Lar Efrata cares for 18 orphaned or abandoned children. It was founded by
Baptist missionary, Richard Stimson, in 1990. Lar Efrata is located in Embu Guacu, a small town about
one hour's drive southwest of Sao Paulo, in southern Brazil. Homeless Children International began a
partnership with Lar Efrata in 1993.
